The last of the great land barons Henry Miller died October 15. Edward Treadwell, his attorney, announces that miller's will requires immediate subdivision and sale of lands to aid settlement and development across California Oregon Nevada and other states. Miller built a dime a fortune over fifty million valued Western lands donating to charity and employing thousands across ranches slaughterhouses stores banks and hotels. He emigrated from Württemberg Germany in 1827 and moved to California by 1849.
