Associated Press dispatch from Nov 17 reports Kerensky defeated and vanished amid Bolshevik seizure of Moscow. Provisional government forces reportedly besieged in the Kremlin while artillery shells the ancient capital. Estimates of casualties range from two to five thousand since the revolt began.
Crane Oil Shale Company forms in Reno with W Ralston as president and Adolphus Crane as vice president. Directors include Johnattin Payne William Woodburn and others. Plant to operate on 2000 acres of shale lands in Italy Humboldt and Elko counties and be ready for commercial work in Reno within thirty days. Government support and special personnel planned for gasoline production from shale.
The Mist race meet yielded funds for the state highway system. Secretary Joe McCormack said the state’s share was 11 365 16, from gross handle of 56 826.80. The amount was turned over to the state treasurer and goes into the State Way fund for improvements. Proceeds were prorated among mileage districts.
