Allies plan for Serbian liberty in Balkans

Asquith May Dull Hold On

In the House of Commons premier Asquith argued for conscription by mutual consent and stated he would not surrender his burden while retaining confidence of the sovereign and the house. Villa Defeat at Agua Prieta Routs Forces in Battle

Villa forces were badly defeated by Carranza troops at Agua Prieta. The main army retreated at sunrise leaving about 400 wounded. Barbed wire defences hindered Villa guns while Yaqui auxiliaries arrived too late to reverse the rout. General Funston arrived to command American troops.

Fire in Western Pacific round-house at Elko

Last night a small blaze in the Western Pacific round-house at Elko was thought to be oil waste catching fire. The barge canal appropriation of 27 million dollars is also on the ballot.
