A massive blast at the Aetna Chemical soda house in the Oakdale plant near Pittsburgh unleashed violent destruction tearing buildings apart. Early reports cited more than 150 deaths with relief trains and medical crews dispatched. a second explosion followed around 1:30 PM.
A large tank of an explosive known as Tha ruptured at the plant and a second blast followed at 1:30. Authorities estimate the damage near one million dollars and say the incidents involve the same company and similar storage facilities.
