Elko Man John Butler Killed In Auto Wreck Near Lamoille
A car carrying John Butler, B P Bikmaier, Frank Robinson, and H Johnny left Elko at 4 30 bound for Lamoille. Butler died at the scene after the vehicle plunged over a bank six miles from Lamoille. Bikmaier Robinson and Jolnley were shaken. Butler’s funeral plans await coroner’s inquest.

Paris dispatch reports a French official communique that German assaults west of a small lake near Haux failed in bayonet combat. Berlin says French attacks near Dead Man's Hill and southeast of Hill No 304 were repulsed with 34 French prisoners taken nearby, while on the eastern front Germans captured 600 yards of Russian trenches near Selburg and took 309 Russians along with several machine guns.
