The Cleveland Leader accuses Nevada of sneering at Ohio amid war loyalties. Nevada defends its patriotism noting its key role in 1861 65 and wartime funding while condemning Ohio officials for alleged corruption and opportunism. The Nevada reply asserts lasting Western sacrifice and loyalty.
The Elko County Red Cross Chapter invites residents from all sections of the county to join. Recruiting locations include the Mayor's office and the Commercial Hotel for enrollment and information.
In Elko County Nevada the District Court of the Fourth Judicial District appoints Julius John Altube as executor of Bernardo Altube deceased. Creditors must file claims with three months from first publication with vouchers and affidavit. last publication July 12, 1917.

On March 19 1917 Fred Tyler of Valmy Nevada filed with the State Engineer an application to appropriate public waters of Nevada The project would take Milligans Creek at a point in the NW corner of Sec 6 T41N R47E to supply a dam and reservoir and deliver ten cubic feet per second to parcels in Sec 18 Sec 10 Sec 30 and Sec 31 all in Township 42 North Range 47 East
