Winnemucca Woman Fires at Husband in Cabin Stand-Off

Herman Nelson, a cook, was shot by his wife in Winnemucca while trying to enter a cabin on West Third Street with her two children. The bullet struck him in the left side, possibly in a lung, and he is believed to have a fair chance of recovery. Police expect a warrant for assault with intent to kill, with bail likely. the motive and details remain unclear as the couple had separated months earlier.

Nevada cattle sale reduces James Wood herd for retirement

Former Senator Tom J Bell of Reese River reports the sale of the remaining James Wood cattle number over four thousand head to Dan Stevens of Cloverdale Jake Gooding and J B Hume phrey. About one thousand head were purchased by Hume phrey for forty thousand dollars as Wood retires from cattle running in southern Nevada due to old age.

Nearly all students teachers and guests gathered for a seniors banquet at AGH High School. Toasts honored Miss Knemeyer and the seniors while medals were awarded for track events and a bracelet watch presented by the board president.

George Oliver Roberson, arrested at the University of Nevada last spring on charges by his wife in Martin County South Carolina, was ordered released by the supreme court under a writ of habeas corpus.
