In Udine June 2, reports from Italian forces recount Serbian resistance against German Austrian Bulgarian rule. Prisoners claim thousands of Serbians were hanged by invaders during late battles while Bulgarians committed brutal acts against women and children, prompting shock even among Axis allies. The insurgency persisted for three weeks before being broken by superior numbers.
Provinces Anhui Pechili Hupeh Chekaing Fo kien and Honan declare independence and threaten to march on Pekin to enforce dissolution of parliament and reinstatement of Tuan Chijui as premier. Tang Hau Lung the assembly speaker resigned and fled to Tientsin to join the military government.
Jefferson City Mo June 2 An appeal to the state supreme court was taken from a ruling of Circuit Judge Bird at Kansas City in which he refused to enjoin state officers from enforcing the army registration law.
A suit seeking to cancel a deed of trust for the Nixon Opera House and adjacent lots alleges the conveyance by George S Nixon was unauthorized and void as community property. Plaintiffs claim the trust deed lacked ratification and that all parties believed the transfer was a valid gift. The action targets trustees and current lessees among the defendants. In separate dispatch from London, anarchists and armed crowds marched Nevsky Prospect in Petrograd, denouncing authority and capitalism while threatening banks amid municipal election talk.

June 2 The French submarine Cires torpedoed and sank a large enemy submarine as it attempted to exit from Cattaro. Although attacked by airplanes the Cires returned to base.
June 2 Italian forces on the Julian front advanced about four hundred yards to a mile along the road to Triest near Ostagnavizza. Official notices confirm the push as part of a larger operation on the front.
Washington June 2 The Interstate Commerce Commission affirmed the decision in favor of Utah and Idaho millers and grain shippers in the case against the Rio Grande railroad over the differential between wheat and flour rates from Utah and Idaho to Nevada and California points.
