Gibbs Buys Big Truett Ranch Near Wells

W G Gibbs, who recently sold his Clover Valley ranch to Weeks Brothers, bought the Truett Land and Livestock Co. holdings on T Creek forty miles north of Wells. The sale includes all the ranch horses and about sixteen hundred acres. The cattle remain with the Truett company as they plan to acquire more northern county ranches. The purchase price was not disclosed.

Bootleggers Form Protective Union At Oatman Camp

Eighteen Arizona bootleggers met in Oatman to organize for protection against unfair competition by nonresidents. They voted to boycott allies of 49 camp scabs and threatened legal action if needed. Carlin Young Man Seriously Injured in Hunting Accident

Thomas McKenna Jr. of Carlin, son of Roadmaster McKenna, was seriously injured while hunting fifty miles north of Carlin yesterday. While removing a shotgun from the car it discharged, tearing part of a finger and badly lacerating the other hand palm. The injury likely permanent though hand functions remain. Zormie Linebarger had a narrow escape as the shot passed through his side.

Carranza Sends Softened Reply on U S Tension

Washington July 5 General Carranza delivered to the State Department a notably softened reply to the President's ultimatum. He pledges honor of Mexico to avoid new incidents and asks reciprocal restraint from the United States.
