Aurora Indiana January 21 George W Evans hauled a cow and calf in a stock wagon. A frightened calf leapt onto the horses backs when an approaching car startled it and the horses bolted. Evans was thrown from the wagon. The team ran three miles with the calf clinging to the double tree and the cow bouncing in the wagon. The wagon skidded struck a telephone pole and tipped into a fifteen foot embankment. The cow suffered a broken leg.
