Central Powers plan self government for Courland and Lithuania

Amsterdam February 26. Von Hertling told the Reichstag the Central powers aim to grant provinces self rule in Courland and Lithuania. He said eastward operations seek peace fruits with Ukrania and that Exthonia or Livonia would not be occupied. He claimed Poland’s liberation was to lead to an independent state and noted a constitutional issue is being discussed among the three involved countries.

Whirl of Mirth Goes Over the Top at Show

A lively afternoon show drew large crowds with humor and musical pieces. Performers like Al Carville Ted Carville and Mrs Ray Hant kept the crowd roaring as various acts and choruses delivered laughs and song in a quarantine atmosphere.

Refuses To Shake Hands Fined Five Dollars

Alton Illinois police court fines Lawrence Windel five dollars and costs for refusing to shake hands with John Goodyear who had been his opponent in a farm dispute. Shot Proves Fatal to A Towing Proprietor Near Cheyenne

Raymon Maurrington of Denver and a Twin Auto Livery owner died from wounds after being shot on the Greely Cheyenne road eighteen miles south of Cheyenne by a member of the colored state constabulary.
