He noted Germany would accept Vatican mediation but England France and Russia rejected his peace offers. Germany even sent Von Hertmann as a peace emissary and asked the Pope not to head a peace congress. Assurances came that Turks would cease persecuting Armenians as the Pope vows to continue efforts for peace despite opposition.

Santa Fe Flyer Wreck Injures Several On Trip East
A Santa Fe tourist train from Chicago to Los Angeles wrecked north of Panmena about 37 miles east of the Hoodoo Spot.
