Paris April 12 The French war office reports a Brandenburgers division attacked Caillette Wood on a two mile front with liquid fire but was repulsed at most points. German losses are estimated at 30,000 since last Sunday as heavy bombardment continues along the Douaumont Vaus front.

Mexicans Find Large Treasure Packed in Wagons

Jaurez officials report three 10 mule wagons loaded with gold silver and paper money en route to Quaretara from Parral with an estimated value of 0 to five million dollars. The treasure allegedly was buried on the Lasnieros ranch west of Parral by General Thomas Urbino before his death in a Villa skirmish. It will be produced under Eastern Star auspices at standard prices.

Chicago April 12 Roosevelt partisans elected two to three delegates instructed to vote for him in the Republican national convention though his name was not on the ballots. Democratic delegates were solid for President Wilson. Senator Sherman said Illinois 58 delegates would back him first choice and Roosevelts second choice.

London April 12 The British steamer Senator of 3497 tons was sunk by a submarine this morning with crew escaping. The Swedish steamer Murjek of 4124 tons was sunk by a mine and her crew saved. The steamer Smeaton was sunk by a submarine this morning and her crew were saved.
