Henry Rheinhart discovered a broken rail on Lake Shore tracks a quarter mile west of New Carlisle. He notified the telegraph operator, the train was halted by torpedoes, and the Eastbound Twentieth Century passed safely. Passengers offered to fund his trip to New York, which he declined.

Valley Line reaches 1932 miles in operation

Jacob J. and John H. Brumbaugh sue the Elkhart Construction Co George C Berkey and the Northern Construction Co in circuit court for 109 damages. They alleged an oral contract to furnish a lighting plant for dredging at Packerton Ind now repudiated after the Elkhart firm sold to Berkey and then to Northern Construction Co.
