Six Barns Burned in Elkhart Fire Endangers and Saved
Firefighters battled a major blaze in Elkhart Saturday night as six barns went up in flames near Harrison Street. Despite heavy smoke and intense heat, crews prevented spread to nearby stores and dwellings, with water pressure improving after hydraulics arrived. Loss estimated at 600 to 800 dollars. several horse stables were saved and no injuries reported.

Men Taken To Goshen In Loose Ends Of Larceny Case
Mike McKinney and William Riley, formerly in Elkhart, were arraigned before Judge Blake on larceny charges, waived examination, and bound over to the circuit court with bonds of 100 dollars each. Captured after a knife and scissors sale near Heasley brick yard, they had prior city license violations and were held for looting a Wisconsin Central car.
