Cook Reaches North Pole Claim Confirmed by Telegram
Danish steamer Hans Egede carried Dr. Frederick A. Cook toward confirmation of reaching the north pole on April 21, 1908. The dispatch from Lerwick says Eskimos at Cape York verify his journey and that Cook, aided by a small party, may have added a day to the calendar at the pole.
