Train Wreck Kills Two Engineers Near White Pigeon
A Lake Shore wreck a mile west of White Pigeon Michigan at 6 05 last evening killed engineer G W Rollins of Elkhart and fireman C E Lund. Extra freight 239 hauled 42 cars led by engines 239 and 173 under T E Lyons. Darkness and heavy rain preceded a high speed rear collision. Both men were scalded and burned. Rollins died after five minutes, Lund died at the scene. Inquest held at White Pigeon. Rollins survived by a wife two stepsons and a daughter. Lund 25 years old lived with his brothers and mother. Funeral plans set for Elkhart and White Pigeon.
