Silk Robbery Follows Narrow Hole Cut in Wall
Thieves expert in silk work looted Ziesel Bros store in Elkhart during a midnight entry, stealing between 1000 and 1200 dollars worth of top grade silks. They used a square hole cut through lathe and plaster between the north wall and the Masonic hall to reach the second floor, then escaped likely through a rear cellar window. Local merchants had warned of such robberies and a gang of 12 to 15 members is suspected.
