J. G. Haverling of St. Joseph county was injured while stretching wire when the line snapped and struck his forehead. The blow cut a deep gash across the forehead and pierced the eye lid and sclera, forcing the eye contents outward. A surgeon replaced the contents and there is hope to save sight.
