The Fourth Assembly of St. Joseph Valley Chautauqua opens at 7 30 this evening at McNaughton Park featuring leading lyceum talent concert organizations and entertainers in a major local cultural event.
The notice outlines the Fourth Chautauqua opening schedule with President Chas M Eiisenhbeiss at 7 30 p m and a 7 45 p m concert by the Singers and Players club with Dabney Carr. At 8 15 p m a lecture titled A Virginia Worshipper at New England Shrines by Dr N McGee Waters. Friday morning covers Physical Education Boys and Girls Clubs Nature Study by Professors Kirk Earle Wallace and J P Gilbert.

Trumet Notes band performed on the Hotel Bucklen balcony to the largest crowd ever along Main Street for such an event. The block was packed with standing room only, cars lined the street, and fans sang along to favorites like Love Me and the World Is Mine and Dreaming. Featured cornet solos by Fred J. Whapham and the popular Indian novelty Napanee drew strong applause. Ned K. Miller organized the program and plans an Old Timers Concert with selections from earlier years.

Cleveland July 23. The Machinists Committee writes that the company has an agreement with Collinwood machinists to uphold piece work. The committee says it has agreed to abolish piece work at Collinwood, but the superintendent replies the company will not abolish piece work at Collinwood or Elkhart and cites the July 18 communication and July 27 deadline.

Plymouth Indiana July 23 Henry A Barnhart was unanimously nominated as Democratic candidate for Congress for both terms at 2 15 pm. Delegates and supporters packed the Thayer mansion as bands led a parade through Plymouth. Marshall received an ovation for governor and Harry Grube won the joint electors nomination from Marshall county.
