Judge Landis Reverses Demurrers in Oil Indictments
Chicago Jan 3 Judge Landis in federal court overruled demurrers to eight indictments against Standard Oil Co refusing a repetition of immunity given to the wackers by Judge Humphreys. The demurrer as to two indictments is sustained and trial on the eight sustained indictments will proceed at once. The decision followed a lengthy legal review opposing Judge Humphrey's ruling later condemned by Roosevelt. Nine more lines trimmed for clarity.

Haunted Farmer Plans Move from East Elkhart Farm
A Darby county farmer, John Otterson, says he is haunted by the spirit of his deceased father in law David Garman and will move from his Bristol road farm three miles east of East Elkhart. He sold stock and implements at public sale December 20, and will relocate to his former residence near the city limits. Garman, a pioneer, died about two years ago leaving a substantial estate. Otterson, a former meat dealer on Goshen Avenue, is well known in East Elkhart.
