Novel Noodle Soup Contest Crowned at Bremen Estate
A novelty contest at Philip Helmlinger’s residence five miles north of Bremen Sunday afternoon pitted Geo Knotlock of South Bend against Helmlinger in a plate stowage challenge for noodle soup. The event started at 3 pm with Knotlock reaching his 18th plate by 4 pm while Helmlinger fell ill. Knotlock was declared winner and dubbed "Noodles" by the attending ladies.

No Hope For Him After Abortion Case Defense Denied
In Lagrange Indiana February 24 a judge denied the motion for a new trial in the Montgomery abortion case. Dr Montgomery said he could not face prison due to a heart condition and likely death within sixty days. He was moved to Michigan City by sheriff Kauffman and plans indicate Barney's case could be heard Monday at the March term opening.
