The Way of the World in a Kansas Death Case
An unknown man was found dead on the outskirts of a small Kansas town. A revolver and 100 dollars in cash were found on his person. The coroner held an inquest and took 75 dollars to cover expenses and burial. The police judge fined the corpse 25 dollars for carrying concealed weapons and confiscated the gun. The local newspaper published the obituary and received nothing.
