In Kendallville Indiana Edwin Wright aged 50 from Rome City died in a family dispute. Authorities report the incident occurred near his home about six miles north of the county seat. The outcome follows a fatal domestic confrontation with no further details released.
In Springfield Illinois on February 4 Hopkins trailed on the seventy first ballot with Foss at 18 Shurtleff 16 Stringer 6 Mason 4 McKinley 1 Lowden Calhoun 1 Sherman 13 Madison Wis reports indicate Hopkins remained short of electing a senator while Wisconsin judge Stephenson gained 62 of 120 votes on a judicial joint ballot in Madison.
The Schwin family near loss as fire broke out at 8 30 this morning at their War ren Hill farm rental just north of Foster Kimball Machine plant outside city limits. Central and No 4 fire companies responded though hydrants were ineffective. The blaze damaged or destroyed beds clothes and personal effects while earlier Nov 20 their DeCamp farm rental suffered total loss in a separate fire.
Scio trustees bought eight lots from William DeCamp for Willowdale’s new school near Bethel Evangelical church on Michigan Street. The size is not set yet, but work will start as soon as possible with part of the old central school material reused in the Willowdale building and adding a four room wing to the South Side school. Architect Hill Turnock is planning the addition and bids for demolishing the old central building are invited.
