Washington December 3 Congresssman Burton says rumors about him joining Taft's cabinet embarrassed him but he cares only that he is a candidate for the Senate to succeed Karaker. Mrs Corbin denies allegations. Alleged Taft fund contributor said to be ten women giving 10000 dollars.
Mrs Henry Corbin denies she is the largest contributor to Watt's campaign fund. She explains the $10.90 amount comes from ten one thousand dollar contributions by ten women, with others preferring anonymity. She objects to being named as the leading woman donor.
Director of Census North said no apology is due from him over his role with the Dinglay pill. He urged Senator Aldrich to speak if any statement is needed. Aldrich declined to comment.
Washington December 1 Congressmen say postmasters added to the classified service will not trigger protests. Congressman Campbell of Kansas notes postmasters are less significant in politics than they believe and expresses hope when all postmasters are included in the change.
Arkansas river almost at a standstill and levees weakened flood waters menace Pine Bluff. Buildings are undermined and may collapse as the city braces for disaster with concerns over damage to costly structures and public safety.
County Treasurer Croayg collected 346,868.56 in Goshen taxes since January 1908, earning only 40 in compensation. Circuit Clerk Fleming reports 1170.45 in office fees for the quarter.

Lafayette Indiana December probate reveals James Murdock’s will naming sons Charles and Samuel T Murdock as executors and heirs. A trust of 50000 in Indianapolis Street Railway stock is for five grandchildren with staged distributions. Remaining estate goes to the three children with contingent shares to surviving heirs.
Terms of separation agreed between Mr Abs Frank Kurtz of Goshen and his wife. Desertion filed against the former was dismissed in Justice Whisler's court today. The palmist claimed to have foretold events that sparked the quarrel.
