Naughton’s Hay Scale Weight Gain and Oddroom Confessions
A letter recounts Naughton discovering a 39 pounds and 21 ounces gain since leaving home. John Cook outgrows his new suit, Mr. Morehouse resembles a Bristol figure, and a servant-roommate describes loud noises from enlarged girth. The writer warns Bren to visit and witness the six o'clock dinner rituals ending with champagne.
