In San Francisco on November 14 Assistant District Attorney Francis J. Heney was shot in the courtroom by Morris Haas an ex convict. The attack followed Heneys exposure of a juror as an ex convict in the Ruef bribery graft case. Heney wounded but not fatally. Haas detained after the shooting.
