Two schoolgirls known for freckles recall a folk remedy of washing faces in dew before sunrise on May first. They rose at four o'clock to bathe in frosted dew, hoping to shed freckles and perhaps gain an appetite for breakfast.

After Warren Hill Co closes out china and granite ware stock, the basement room will be converted into a cheap bargain department. It will be run like city department stores, offering cheaper grades of various lines.

Three year old Harold Hays left home at 1027 South Third Street and was found wandering on East Jackson Street by grocer G W Robinson after police were notified.
Supt. Silvers arrested Jacob E. Brown of St. Joe street aged twenty one on charges a wife brought after a week of desertion. The wife mother of an eight week old baby is Minnie daughter of the late Patrick O'Brien.

Mabelle Gillman arrived today on the North German Lloyd steamer in New York. She will wed William E. Corey on May 7 in the city, in a quiet ceremony.
