Tragedy at cigar factory in Philadelphia causes deaths

A deadly crush and jumpings in a cigar factory on Tenth street and Washington Avenue killed eight young women aged 12 to 22 and injured many more as a deaf and dumb boy Isador Baccus was blamed for the collapse of the elevator shaft initiating a fatal stampede. Relatives flooded the streets as firemen and ambulances rushed in to aid survivors.
