The final vote on the measure stood 42 to 1 with Allison and Dolliver dissenting. Dr. T Tayloe and his family were poisoned with coffee and hash laced with arsenic by Jim Walker a driver who had threatened to kill the nurse. He carried rat poison and confessed intent to kill the old nurse. Troops may be deployed to guard him as public anger mounts.
March 18 in Brillion Wis John Otto former city clerk escaped death when a bullet fired at him in his Forest Junction home after supper struck the window frame and then glanced off to wound his son in the arm.

Wabash Indiana March 18 Secretary Freeman of the Indiana forestry board leads a scheme to plant black locust trees on 2000 acres near Cass County. Four foot spacing, rapid growth, and weather resistant wood aim to yield hundreds of thousands of railroad ties in a few years. About 14 000 trees will be planted this spring with hopes of starting a statewide forest expansion this season.
The Union Traction company plans a 15000 investment to transform West side park west of Muncie into a scenic railway summer theater and park. The improvements aim to attract patrons of the road and boost excursion traffic from areas west of Muncie.

In Norfolk on March 18 WW Jenkins, a well known young man, threw a large plank across a track to block a car during the early street railway strike. He was tried in the corporation court and sentenced to two years hard labor in the state penitentiary. Torpedo explosions were heard on the tracks last night but officers made no arrests. Strikers are returning to work with thirteen signing yesterday. The strike breakers, non union men, are leaving.

Water in the Missouri river near Brook of Chamberlain is receding rapidly. The stream is now only about fifty feet wide, following a presumed major gorge above the point.
