Great Steel Plant Scheme Aims to Benefit Indiana Convicts
Indianapolis Dec. 26 Indiana senators and congressmen receive letters from United States Steel officers urging support for a deep sea harbor at Indiana Harbor and a vast Lake county steel plant. The plant would be the world's largest of its kind and employ thousands, with ore shipped whalebacks from Lake Superior to Indiana Harbor. Congress members reply they will back the appropriation and early spring work is planned.
