John J Dooley aged 37 died at 2 o'clock this morning at the Alexian Hospital of Brights Disease after ten weeks illness. He was born and lived in the city, a parishioner of St Patrick's Church, educated at the local parochial school, and a well known local figure. He held memberships in the American Club the Screen Club the Independent Order of Foresters and was charter member and first commodore of the Elizabeth Yacht Club. He was regarded as the wealthiest young man in the lower city with an estate including seventeen acres on the Staten Island shore near the ferry and sizable city real estate valued near one hundred thousand dollars. Survived by his mother and four sisters Sixtet Visitation Mrs Timothy Harrington Mrs Joseph Masterson and Mrs James McGowan. Residence listed as 159 Second Street.
