Road Fund Money Reallocated by 1908 Law Change
State Attorney General outlines a revised distribution method for motor vehicle funds to municipal road maintenance. The amendment broadens eligibility beyond state aided projects, aiming to repair all improved roads. Counties with less state aid face gains, while those with extensive self funded roads lose share. Estimates project about 42 thousand dollars from motor vehicle revenue this year.

Ocean Grove Tax Ruling for Camp Meeting Property
At a Monmouth County Board of Taxation meeting in Ocean Grove on May 28 a decision declared that campers from the Camp Meeting Association must pay taxes on property here, while the association itself is exempt. The ruling aligns with the late Board of Taxation order to tax all real and personal property belonging to the Geen Grove Association, and follows state court determinations on similar cases.

Tax ruling debated at Ocean Grove board meeting
The board, with secretary Charles N. Stout, heard Rev. Dr. Aaron K. Hallard and Swranel A. Patterson as about forty residents attended. Patterson argued the association should not pay taxes since the leaseholders pay only rent. The board sided with this view, noting the association’s equity lies in rental income rather than taxed property.
Colgate Sues Former Colleague In Newark Suit
Newark May 23. Papers in a suit to recover 2500 on promissory notes have been served on Gustave A. Kayser, once a member of the Essex delegation in the Legislature in 1906. Assemblyman William P. Martin, counsel for Colgate, says Kayser owes 1075 with interest on two notes. The case stems from a 1906 loan of 1000 to Kayser to start a business, with a demand note and a second note for 75 interest. Both notes remain unpaid as alleged. Colgate and Kayser, elected with the reform ticket in 1905, sought renomination in 1906 and failed.
