Morris County Traction to Connect Elizabeth and Lake Hopatcong

Martin Mitchell a 5 year old Civil War veteran and almshouse inmate died by suicide by leaping in front of a westbound freight train near Broad Street. Irene Goodwin 17 and Elizabeth Kelly 18 told of kidnapping from Waltham Massachusetts and forced aboard the barge with other suspects including Innac Herah and William Johnson. Det. Wickley and Rabig of the Central Railroad police led the raid. the girls and the engineer John Myck remain in custody under investigation with possible charges of immoral purposes and kidnapping.
