Pardoned youth who shot man never entered reform school
Trenton May 11 The court granted a pardon to George Hollins an electrical expert and Somerset Institute graduate who killed a negro in Elizabeth on March 11 1907. He was sentenced to Rahway Reformatory but never admitted due to diphtheria outbreaks and overcrowding. Hollins worked for J G White & Co of New York and had returned home to his mother when the fatal shooting occurred.
