Milan May 4 A telegraph report from Rome states that revolutionary factions plot to end Diaz's reign. Government officials urge restraint amid fears of a wider uprising. Telegraph from Washington reports that Foreign Minister De la Barra seeks a peace accord with revolutionary leaders today and anticipates a settlement within days. In El Paso, May 4, Francisco Madero Jr and Judge Carbajal held a formal peace meeting by the river, with Madero seen as the sole envoy and advisers Gomez and Suarez. Washington May. After a conference with the President, Rep Lever of South Carolina and Tommert refused to pursue a House inquiry into Dr. David Dayne Hill's resignation as ambassador to Wetlin. They said they were convinced the controversy over potaals had nothing to do with Hill's retirement.
