George Clauss, 72, owner of Clauss Bottling Company at 1028 Elizabeth Avenue, died after a long illness. Born January 21, 1835, in Kirachen Bolanden Germany he came to America in 1855 and worked for several firms before starting his bottling business near Union Square in 1860. He leaves wife Frances Moser two sons and four daughters and is survived by brothers Frederick and Henry. Funeral services will be held at Turn Hall High Street Friday evening with interment private Saturday.
