Two Men Escape From Rahway Reformatory
Wilbert Duck and John Arkanow escaped from Rahway Reformatory last evening and remain at large. Duck, 20, from Salem County, and Arkanow, 25, from Palatic County, were kitchen workers trusted with cooking and cleaning duties. They slipped through a rear door after 6 pm as rain and darkness hid the fence breach, and guards launched a wide manhunt.

Obituary of Samuel Godfrey longtime Iron Meadow resident
Samuel Godfrey aged about 80 died last night at his home after a long illness. He lived in Iron Meadow and was a longtime member of Knights of Pythias District 78 and a former grand representative and prelate. He leaves a wife two sons and four daughters who teach in public schools. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery with services at his late home conducted by Rev Dr Taft of the Frational Church.
