A basement fire at Pingry School spread rapidly last night, gutting the main building and destroying desks and equipment. Chief Gerstung led a daring rescue, with firefighters entering a burning attic room to save valuables as a crowd watched in suspense.
Justice Stafford sentenced Frederick A. Hyde, millionaire San Francisco real estate operator, to two years in jail and a $10,090 fine. Co-defendant H Schneider of Tucson received two years and a $1,000 fine. Appeals rights were granted to both defendants.

Witnesses including Mrs Sarah Robinook and Miss Nettie Robinet testifying. adjournment requested due to witness constraints and illness of Assistant Prosecutor Walter Hetfield Jr. State automobile inspector George Pson also on hand.
