Bayonne to Staten Island tube plan discussed at public meeting
Bayonne organizers from 40 groups plan a Monday evening meeting at 226 Broadway New York to discuss a tunnel under the hills linking Bayonne to Staten Island and a nearby line redesign. The scheme would connect to the Centre Line in New Jersey and reduce transfers for residents while competing with ferry routes to Manhattan. Staten Island leaders show cautious interest, noting time frames may push the project back a decade.
