Petition for Contractor Loss Reimbursement on Sewer Work
The council debated paying contractors Jacob Jacques & son $4,000 for losses in the Catherine Street sewer project due to quicksand. The petition urged reimbursement as fair for extra labor and property damage, while other items covered Baltic Street bridge routing, city pier plans, insurance on the new dock, sewer postings, and park improvements. The measures included hiring for Second Street paving, police protection, widow G McNamara’s claim, and a $50 bicycle for the building inspector.
