Rumors Fly Over G O P Delegates in Iowa Cannons
Rumors claim Iowa Republicans are shaping delegate lines for the 1948 national convention with eight congressional districts and seven at large delegates. The contest is seen as a clash between Dewey and Taft camps, with Taft supporters allegedly lining up seven delegates, while state convention selections loom. Observers note the difficulty of verifying such drafts before county and state conventions finalize choices.
