Woodland Study Club Met Wednesday
The Woodland Study Club met Wednesday September twelfth at the home of Mrs. Duane Kamp. Sixteen members answered roll call with A Favorite Hymn. A discussion on preparing a Christmas box for orphans followed. The program included poems read by Ira Vasby and Otto Vasby, with Mrs. App Nelson giving the thought for the day. Birth day songs were sung for Helen Dibble George Larson and Ann Nelson. Entertainment bingo with prizes went to Mrs. Will Kugel Frank Hogan Art Nelson and Wm Burrow. Guests were Mrs. Will Kugel and Mrs. Cliff Olson.

Mrs. Hansen at C E High is an active teacher with local roots. Born in Centerville she studied at Centerville Junior College and ISTC majoring in business education and minoring in music. She taught at Winthrop last year and married Mr. Hansen in Centerville this June. She has talents in folk dance cooking reading and knitting with a notable knitting achievement a sweater. An embarrassing moment came when she joked to a mother about chewing gum only to learn the mother was chewing gum too. Student Council elected officers and representatives with Dorothy Helgerson as president Bobby Swenson as vice president John Nelson as secretary. 12th grade reps Ronald Lyngans and LaVerne Swenson 11th Zebbie Pape 10th and Judy Durr 9th.
