The Elgin Echo Daal is published every Thursday by Strauch and Hermen in Elgin Iowa. It is entered as second class mail matter September 1, 1891 at the Elgin post office in Fayette County Iowa under the March 3 1652 act.
Miss Janice Faye Hanson wed Jack Bruce Haydon at Hanson Haydon Grace Methodist Church Saturday evening. The ceremony featured gladioli decorations, pink bows, and family pews marked with asters. Attendants included maid of honor Myrna Mott and bridesmaids, with Rev. James Kerr White presiding.
The Elgin Iowa town council met September 9 1957 at Town Hall with Boyle Capper Fauser and Mueh lethaler present and Mayor Schori and Dean absent Boyle acted as Mayor Pro Tem Minutes were read and approved Bills were audited and allowed across funds including salary for August for Moore Thoma and Tillotson, fuel and parts for street and water utilities, election supplies, paint, meters and fire truck storage Also items for hall lights recreation center PA system and rent were listed The meeting adjourned after motion by Boyle.
