Elgin Canning Co to Close 1914 Pack Soon
The Elgin Canning Co anticipates closing its 1914 corn packing season in a few days. A large total of corn has been canned with high quality, despite heavy rains that slowed farmers. The factory operated long hours until weather stopped new arrivals, and the remaining corn will reach the plant soon. Previous years 1900, 1911, and 1912 packs were larger, but this year is expected to be the second largest in company history.
