Local notes from Elgin and surrounding area reflect delays and events
The Elgin column records a mix of town happenings including visits by Nellie Carpenter and Harriet Elwood, a picture show in September, Berry crops and a large cranberry yield, a pearl found by Fred Falk, a freak stalk of corn with seven ears, and several church and school activities. It mentions local rail and road notes, college moves for students, and community concerns about weather and events.
