County fair draws record attendance and strong stock show
The Thursday fair drew over 11 000 attendees, the largest yet for the association. Local exhibitors won multiple prizes across Aberdeen Angus, Durham, Short Horn, Polled Hereford, and Duroc Jersey stock, with notable notes on Jimmy Haynes and Elgin ladies. Overall, breeders report satisfaction though hog and cattle sales were weaker than hoped. Future fairs are planned with hopes of greater patronage.
