Mr and Mrs Duane Wander of Castalia welcomed a daughter born August 30 at Decorah hospital weighing 8 pounds 7 ounces. This is the couple’s first child and the newborn’s grandfather is Joe Wander.

Mrs Martin Anderson was taken to La Crosse Monday for a clinic procedure and underwent surgery Friday at Lutheran Hospital in La Crosse Wisconsin. She is recovering and progressing well.
Mrs. Oliver Larson and family visited Henry Larson's Postville home Wednesday afternoon. Mrs. Harold Larson had dinner with the LaVerne Larson home Friday. Mr. and Mrs Amundson visited the LaVerne Larson family Tuesday noon.
Alma Johanna Gunderson Ostlie was born July 9, 1885 on a Clermont area farm. A charter member of East Clermont Lutheran Church, she married Henry Ostlie who died February 8, 1946. She lived at home until 1956, then in Fayette, died August 28, age 73, survived by adopted daughter Eunice Taylor and sister Tillie Swenson, among others.
