Edison Recreates Voice In Opera House Demonstration
A large Elgin audience watched Leela Lacey perform Roses of Memory while the New Edison voice recreation replicated Miss Lucey’s singing. The test aimed to show no audible difference between the living artist and the recording. Despite repeated comparisons, spectators failed to distinguish the real voice from the recreated one.
