Halversons hosted a birthday dinner for Bobby with relatives attending. Loftsgard, Wardell guests, and Ed Berg visit noted. L. G. Lehman and Lulu Schmid celebrated at Water Too. Roy Leuchtenmacher visited Elkader. Alphas Epsilon Rho at the University of Nebraska added four new members including Dixie Helms of Elgin. Helms also serves as KMUG traffic manager.
Pleasant Valley Sharpshooters met at the Kruegers home on September 30 with thirteen members answering roll call about fair awards. Officers elected for 1958 were Richard Orth president David Blockhus vice president Jimmy Frieden secretary treasurer Terry Habeger reporter Abe Habeger leader Kenneth Blockhus and Clifton Miller asst leaders. The next meeting will be at Valley High School October 28 with a pancake and waffle supper and dads night. The group seeks new members and asks dads to attend.

Theo Loftegard, previously a medical patient at the Postville hospital, returned home Sunday. Mrs Leo Falb remains a medical patient at Postville hospital after arriving Monday afternoon. Gary Larson, son of Mr and Mrs LaVerne Larson, underwent surgery at the Decorah hospital Saturday morning. Mrs John Anderson is a medical patient at Palmer Memorial hospital West Union, having gone there Monday.

Robert Beard of Hudson suffered the loss of a finger when his wedding ring caught on a truck mechanism as he jumped from the vehicle. The severed finger was later amputated.
